Dr. Raminder Singh, S11718

12 patients were analyzed, who all were treated for wet age related macular degeneration. Average age of patients was 78.6, 3 males and 9 females. 7 right eyes were treated and 5 left. The average number of Ranibizumab injections received in each eye before being switched to Aflibercept were 15. Log MAR vision before start of Aflibercept was 0.76 and after 3 injections was 0.77. After completion of the course of seven injections of Aflibercept the log MAR vision was 0.74.

Thus aflibercept injections can be tried as a rescue measure in patients who are not responding well to Ranibizumab. The regimen used was, initial 3 injections at 4 week apart and further 4 injections 8 weekly in each eye. Follow up visits were organized after 3rd and 5th injection. No complications were reported after Aflibercept injections
