Oculogyric refers to‘rotation of eyeballs’,one of the dystonic reactions to commonly used drugs, characterised by bilateral dystonic elevation of the eyes for secs to hrs.We are presenting a case of a 19 yr old female, brought to the casualty with sudden onset of upturned fixed eyes and not able to focus. She gave a history of vomiting the previous day and was prescribed Ondansetron,Domperidone, levosulpride,Chlordiazepoxide, Magaldrate&Simethicone.Eyes were fixed in dextroelevation, but she was able to fix the eyes in primary position and could move the eyes in all positions of gaze with extreme effort but could not sustain the position. After physician and psychiatrist consultation, was started on Trihexiphenydil 10mg BD&Lorazepam 0.25 mg BD.She improved within 30-40 min from the time of presentation and did’nt develop any other symptoms.Because of the high possibility of recurrence, all the clinicians should be well aware of this condition which needs prompt treatment and follow up.
