Primary pterygium in children is known to be rare. Presenting a 7 year old child with a fleshy growth in right eye .On examination nasal pterygium encroaching on the cornea was noted, vision was normal. Surgical excision with flap rotation was done for the patient.Recurrence was seen on one month follow up. Autograft is planned on the next visit. Pterygium usually has astigmatism and recurrence is a rule in young children. Our case was not associated with any astigmatism. Treatment is challenging in such cases.
