PURPOSE : To analyse outcome of DSEK.
MATERIAL AND METHODS : A retrospective, non randomised, non comparative study.Inclusion criteria-All pateints registered for DSEK with endothelial dystrophy of various etiology.Exclusion criteria-Ocular comorbidities, gross pas, failed grafts,<3 months of followup and incomplete documentation.Pre and postoperative(BCVA,GAT)and ECD,GRAFT THICKNESS were evaluated.
RESULTS : 48eyes of 47 patients were taken.The mean age 61±1yrs.Mean followup 7.97months.Pseudophakic bullous keratopathy39(81%) treated with DSEK alone ,9(19%)phakic bullous keratopathy were treated with DSEK+ PHACO+PCIOL.BCVA preoperatively-1.8±0.8 and postoperatively-0.8±0.51(p<0.0001).The GAT,ECD,GRAFT THICKNESS was 13.77±4.7mm of hg,1391.57±527.29/sqmm,122.23±57.84µm respectively.Failed graft(2),uveitis(1),dislocated graft(1) were reported.
CONCLUSION : DSEK is safe and effective treatment for pseudophakic and phakic bullous keratopathy. It can be safely combined with phaco to treat phakic bullous keratopathy.
