Dr. Snehal Rajendra Ganatra, G18716, Dr. Mehul Rameshbhai Patel

PURPOSE:
To report a case of electrical shock causing multiple ocular manifestations – acute bilateral iritis, bilateral cataracts, and angle closure glaucoma.

METHODS:
Case report and review of literature

RESULTS:
We present a case of electrically induced bilateral iritis, cataract and angle closure glaucoma in a 48 year old male. Patient regained normal vision in both eyes after cataract surgery. Final visual acuity depends on other ocular manifestations present.

CONCLUSION:
Electrically induced injuries have ocular manifestations occuring simultaneously or sequentially. Commonest ocular finding is cataract formation. Awareness of this complication and screening of all cases of electrical injuries is stressed.
