IC203 – UNDERSTANDING PHACO FLUIDICS – CHOOSING YOUR MACHINES AND SETTINGS

Dr. Ray Chaudhuri Bhaskar [R07085] – Kolkata

This IC will help in understanding what the various parameters like vacuum, aspiration flow rate, rise time, dynamic rise time etc. mean, understanding implications of bottle height, turbulence, its effect and how to minimise it. It will help beginners choose correct settings in regular as well as special cases – like IFIS/
impending IFIS, smallish pupils, capsule polishing, PPC, zonulysis, pediatric cataract etc. The final takeaway will be a fair idea of what various entry-level and high-ended machines provide. This will be a video based IC with practical demonstration of the effect of changing parameters in various patient situations coupled with simulation videos in an artificial test chamber
