IC34 – MACULAR SURGERY – SIMPLIFIED

This instruction course will highlight the all important disorders of the Macula which can be effectively managed and discuss simplified steps to surgically manage them. The course will open with an ‘Insight into Macular Imaging’ techniques including FFA, OCT, FAF imaging, OCT Angiography, Multifocal ERG & Choroidal Imaging. The course will then highlight important macular disorders like Macular Holes & recent advances in its management followed by introduction of Vitreo-Macular Adhesions, (VMA), their surgical management versus use of Ocriplasmin which induces ‘Pharmacologic Vitreolysis’. Recalcitrant DME with or without VMT may require surgical intervention & outcomes will be discussed next. Sub macular bleeds often
occurs with CNV, PCV, and RAM and require urgent & effective management which will be presented. Optic Nerve Head pits with retinoschisis & macular detachment often causes severe visual loss and effective management of the same will be presented. Lastly Myopic Traction Maculopathy which includes Macular Myopic Foveoschi
