This video based course will cover indications, techniques and pitfalls during the use of capsular tension rings,cionni’s rings, CTR segments and iris hooks in patients with weak zonules like ectopia lentis in marfan’s syndrome, spherophakia, traumatic subluxation , pseudoexfoliation , intraoperative zonular weakness and paediatric zonular defficiencies. Preoperative evaluation, intraoperative clues for diagnosing potentially unstable zonules, techniques for implantations and management of disasters and triumphs over it will be discussed. IOL options along with techniques of fixation with sutures and glues will be highlighted At the end of the course, the participants will be prepared mentally and technically to use rings , hooks and segments in difficult situations while managing Ectopia lentis.
