Purpose: Advances in technique, instrumentation & knowledge of disease process have allowed repair of more complex diabetic complications. This video showcases how not only simple but complex diabetic vitrectomies can be easily tackled and enable good postoperative vision.
Methods :These were vitrectomies in several proliferative diabetic retinopathy patients where basic surgery principles such as a good vitrectomy, proper induction of posterior vitreous detachment, cauterisation, membrane dissection and laser were adhered to for achieving good results.
Results:The patients of Proliferative diabetic retinopathy have good visual outcomes and have a fairly normal life with surgery performed at the right time. All surgeries went well. Conclusion:Better vitrectomy machines today make difficult surgeries look easy. Patients with complex diabetic membranes, pre retinal and vitreous haemorrhage and macular tractions were operated successfully, helping patients get back to normal life.
