Dr.Kushal Umeshbhai Agrawal, Dr.Jay Kumar Chhablani, Dr.Mahima Jhingan

A 41-year-old male presented with recent vision loss in OS with BCVA of 20/400. Subretinal cyst noted and confirmed on B-scan. CT scan done and active neurocysticercosis was ruled out. Subretinal cyst removal via 23G PPV was planned. During PVD induction nasal retinal break occurred owing to abnormally thick adhesions. After complete vitrectomy and membrane removal, cyst was brought into the vitreous cavity through the nasal retinal break with the soft tip cannula to avoid damage to the cyst wall. Fluid needle was used to remove the cyst in-toto through enlarged sclerotomy by increasing the infusion pressure. At the end of surgery attached retina under oil noted. Cysticercosis was confirmed histopathologically. 20/50 BCVA with attached retina noted postoperatively. POINTS OF DISCUSSION: • Animated video based discussion on lifecycle • Role of Neuroimaging and role of early surgery • Tips to achieve In-toto removal
