Phaco chop is the most important and difficult step in cataract surgery.It is the basis for uncomplicated cataract surgery. There are many techniques for phaco chopping. In my technique I am going to demonstrate First of its kind a new phaco chop technique with 26G needle which can be done in all types of cataract and in all situations .very easy technique to learn.Using 26g needle as phaco chopper made my chopping easy in all types of cataract and all grades proved safe in almost 500 cases with no incidence of pc rent,rhexis tear,dmd etc. looks scary to use needle but very safe .lessens phaco energy,time and cost effective.no chance of wear and tear. no chance of contamination.
