VT21 – All is well which ends well: Three different cases of Stunts and Accidents in Ophthalmology

Dr.Amit Solanki, Dr. MITA JOSHI

In First case while doing posterior capsule polishing under 400 mmHg vacuum, we had posterior capsule rent (PCR) and we converted PCR in to Posterior capsular rhexis followed by implantation of lens into bag. In second case after a week of doing Trabeculectomy, I found extensive descemet membrane detachment which was rolled upon. With great difficulty we could reposit it back. Third case was my first Glaucoma Filtration Device (Express shunt) where the device has moved from its original position and we explanted it out and implanted new device at the adjacent site on same sitting with good outcome. So to conclude, do not be panic once you land up with complication, just take right decision to manage them well because ultimately all is well which ends well.
