Endophthalmitis is a serious and vision threatening complication for any intraocular surgery AIM: To demonstrate the clinical presentation and management of endophthalmitis following SICS.
Method: The prevalence of endophthalmitis has increased in recent years, due in part to a wider range of indications for ophthalmic procedures, better access to treatment especially increasing vitreo retinal facilities & overall number of surgical interventions.We have witnessed suture-less SICS being preferred method of cataract extraction across India. In this video series, we wished to demonstrate our way of managing the devastating complication endophthalmitis in SICS. This series will demonstrate how SICS Differs from other causes of endophthalmitis & how differently we managed these cases.
CONCLUSION: Prompt diagnosis and effective treatment are necessary to increase the likelihood of a good visual outcome in endophthalmitis due to SICS .
