PURPOSE: To demonstrate induction of posterior vitreous detachment (PVD) in different case scenarios. METHODS: This video demonstrates methods of PVD induction in various clinical scenarios such as PVD induction in cases with vitreo macular traction, retinal detachment, nucleus drop, in cases with presence of fibrovascular proliferation near disc, and in young patients. This video also demonstrates innovative novel techniques along with the described and conventional techniques of PVD induction. CONCLUSION: PVD induction is one of the key steps in vitreo-retinal surgeries. This video explains the anatomical basis for use of these particular techniques in different clinical setting. These techniques have shown successful and quick induction of PVD with minimal complication
