50 eyes with normal fundus were included in the study. 2 groups were formulated. Group 1 included 25 eyes of Diabetic patients and Group 2 included 25 eyes of Non-Diabetic patients. Uneventful small incision cataract surgery was performed on them. Post-operative assessment included visual acuity and fundus examination on day 1,7,30,40,60,80. Incidence of post-operative clinical CME in Diabetic patients was 6.67% and Non-Diabetic patients was 1.67% after uneventful small incision cataract surgery. Thus incidence of post-operative clinical CME in Diabetic patients is more than those in Non-Diabetic patients after uneventful small incision cataract surgery.
