Aims: To study the changing trend in vitreous haemorrhage causes and its visual prognosis in relation to medically and surgically managed patients.
Material & Methods: We included total 50 patients in our prospective observational & interventional Study. After initial thorough examination B-Scan and Blood investigation done for related casual association establishment. Then managed medically and surgically.
Results: M: F 2.3/1.0, mean age 44.50 ± 17.06 Yrs. 44% presents between 1 to 6 month after VH with main complain of DOV 98% and floaters 90%. 44% were diabetic, 28 % were hypertensive. Eale’s, RRD, RVOs and Trauma are common cause. 40% were managed surgically.
Discussion: Better vision with conservative in early presentation Vs surgical approach in late. Final vision was ≥6/18 in 40%. Conclusion: So both the treatment modalities are effective in restoring the vision. Density of VH at presentation & delay in presentation are non-significant impact factor for the final VA.
