FP1615 : Evaluation of Efficacy of IOL Power Calculation Formulas in Short Axial Length Patients.

Dr. Charudatt Chalisgaonkar, C12052, Dr. Mahesh Banik

Purpose — To evaluate the efficacy of intraocular lens power calculation formulas i.e; Sanders-Retzlaff-Kraff (SRK)/T and Haigis formulae in short Axial length patients.

Methods — 50 patients were evaluated for IOL power calculation with the short axial length (<22 mm) before SICS Cataract surgery with contact A Scan using IOL power calculation formula SRK II, SRK T & Haigis.
Results — The study shows that IOL power calculation below axial length 22 mm is more accurate with SRK II formula than SRK T & Haigis with least mean absolute error.

Conclusion — In our setting the more accuracy of SRK II formula in lower axial length eyes is in contrast to the previous studies which shows Haigis to be more accurate with least mean absolute error.
