Current advances in the treatment have remarkably improved both the long term survival rate while maintaining the globe architecture. The visual outcome however depends not just on the success of the treatment but also on multiple clinical factors present both pre and post treatment. Therefore, the ten years clinical records of retinoblastoma were retrospectively reviewed to evaluate the long term visual outcome of salvaged eyes in retinoblastoma and the predictors impacting the vision. Visual outcome was seen to be affected by the retinal location of the tumour , vitreous seeding , mode of treatment and its adverse effects. Visual outcome improved with the correction of underlying refractive error and by use of low vision devices. This paper is being presented to highlight the clinical factors influencing vision outcome in salvaged eye in retinoblastoma and the steps taken to improve the same.
