Aim:To analyse demography,clinical presentations and spread of retinoblastoma in patients presenting in tertiary health centre.Materials and
Methods: Retrospective 5year study analysing demography,clinical features,radiological evaluation, staging,metastasis,histopathological study and management.Results:30(33eyes)patients were evaluated.Male to female ratio was 1:1.Mean age of presentation was 24months.27cases were unilateral and 3 bilateral.Most common presenting signs were leukocoria(83.3%),strabismus(26.6%),proptosis(12%),glaucoma(13.3%),pthisis bulbi(3.33%),hyphema(6.66%),pseudohypopyon(6.66%),anterior staphyloma(3.33%).Disease was intraocular in 80%(24) and extraocular in 20%(6),metastasis in 1(3.33%).25cases(83.3%)presented in late stage 4/5(Reese-Ellsworth).Most cases were managed by enucleation(90%)alone,10%were referred for adjuvant radiotherapy/chemotherapy.
Conclusion:Though saving life is primary goal of treatment,early detection can save the globe in retinoblastoma.
