There is a paradigm shift in keratoplasty in today’s cornea surgical practice with increase in lamellar keratoplasty for most pathologies. This course is aimed to help beginners in lamellar keratoplasty to learn all aspects of case selection, preoperative evaluation, instrumentation, manual and automated dissection techniques,
and difficult scenarios. The techniques of supercial anterior lamellar keratoplasty (SALK), hemiautomated lamellar keratoplasty (HALK), Deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK), manual LK, automated lamellar keratoplasty (ALTK) will be covered as VAST demonstrations. Difficult scenarios of lamellar surgeries in
therapeutic indications, LSCD scenarios will also be detailed. Manual lamellar dissection for host button preparation in DSEK will also be elaborated. Pearls and practice tips to achieve success will be discussed as a panel interaction.
